Food For Thought - Why Local?

This week on Food For Thought I discussed the e coli outbreak in the United States because of contaminated bagged spinach.  But I put it in the context of trying to keep our food supply as local as possible.  Just three counties in California were the source of illness for 25 different states.  As the outbreak was sweeping America, I was eating very local at the Vancouver Island Feast of Fields.
