Food For Thought - Barcelona Public Markets

This week on Food For Thought I talk about the public market system in Barcelona, Spain.  At right is a photo of La Boqueria market, one of the most diverse and vibrant markets I have ever visited.  The City of Barcelona runs 46 public markets in the city, 40 of them sell food products.  The City believes having a good public market system will lead to happier, healthier communities.  You can hear all about it by listening to the mp3 of the 5 minute documentary here .  If you have any grasp of Spanish you can visit the markets website here.  You can see a photo album of the market here.

As you know I am a market babe..and just visited the Santa Barbara street market here in the states.
