I have just begun a stint as a contributing blogger at FoodTV.ca, the official website of Food Network Canada. I will be posting occasionally about the Vancouver food and restaurant scene in the bazaar section of the website. My first posting, seen here, is about new West Vancouver restaurant Fraiche. Postings to come include missives about Food Network host Anna Olson’s visit to Vancouver and a sublime meal I had at La Terrazza restaurant.

Nice job on the foodtv post. Looking forward to reading about your encounter with Anna Olson. I’ve been watching her “Fresh” show these last few weeks, and it’s wonderful.
I’ve just come onto your website. I was wondering how people feel regarding the terrible programming on Foodtv.ca. I am tired of seeing the following:
Opening Soon
Chef Hunter
Restaurant Impossible
Chopped
Diners, Drive-ins etc. I like shows that allow you to learn various cooking methods such as seen on TLN Lydia’s Italy. for an example. When I’m in the U.S. the programming seems much more interesting. Maybe you could pass on this email to whom ever it concerns at Foodtv.ca.
PERHAPS YOU CAN FORWARD MY COMMENT TO THE DECISION MAKERS AT FOOD TV. I DON’T KNOW HOW TO REACH THEM. I USED TO WATCH A LOT OF FOOD TV, BUT SELDOM DO NOW. MOST OF THE PROGRAMMES ARE CONTESTS. I LIKE WATCHING SOMEONE COOKING SOMETHING AND THEN I CAN TRY THE RECIPE. WITH PROGRAMMES SUCH AS RESTAURANT MAKEOVER AND IRON CHEF I CAN’T DO THAT. THERE MAY BE SOME OF THESE PROGRAMMES ON DURING THE DAY BUT I DON’T WATCH TV THEN. THER DOESN’T SEEM TO BE ANYTHING TO WATCH AT NIGHT.
